The first part of the Dancers in Motions activities, held in Zagreb from October to December as part of the danceEUA project, has been completed.

To recap, ten young dancers from the five partner countries (Croatia, Hungary, Ukraine, Romania, and Sweden) stayed in Zagreb, where they took part in daily dance workshops and training sessions.

The young dancers lived and worked together in this kind of “dance colony,” which helped achieve one of the main goals of the project: fostering mutual connection and creative development. During their stay in Zagreb, they attended weekly workshops with leading dance professionals and educators from Croatia, the host country, as well as from abroad. Lucija Romanova, Philip Berlin, Joanne Leighton, Staša Zurovac, Ana Kreitmayer, and Roberta Milevoj are just some of the experts who led the sessions.

By providing high-quality content and mentorship for the young dancers, the overall quality and satisfaction of the project is further strengthened. The program’s success is also reflected in one participant’s comment: “All of them were clear with focus and what we are working on in the class, and have their specific interest.”

Since workshops and training sessions were not the only activities aimed at supporting the dancers’ artistic and personal development, weekly visits to various performances were also organized. They attended some of the best shows on Zagreb’s cultural scene during their stay in Croatia’s capital. Cultural and social activities, efforts to help them feel at home in Zagreb, as well as an excursion to a partner country Hungary… All marked the first block of the Empowering Dancers in Motions program. As we look ahead to the second block, which begins after the New Year holidays, the team is ready to prepare even more thoroughly and offer an even richer set of activities.
