Contemporary Resilience: Reinventing Dance in Ukraine (dancEUA) is a European cultural cooperation project dedicated to strengthening the Ukrainian contemporary dance sector and fostering long-term collaboration between Ukrainian and European artists.
The project responds to the challenges faced by Ukrainian dance professionals, providing a platform for artistic exchange, professional development, and cultural resilience through cross-border partnerships.
Led by Studio Contemporary Dance Company (Croatia) in collaboration with partners Central Europe Dance Theatre (Hungary), M Studio (Romania), Vitlycke Centre for Performing Arts (Sweden), and UA Contemporary Dance Platform (Ukraine), dancEUA brings together key cultural organizations committed to advancing contemporary dance. The project is structured around a range of activities, including artist residencies, professional training, cross-border performances, networking initiatives, and policy engagement, all designed to support dance practitioners and the broader cultural sector.
Through these activities, the project creates opportunities for choreographers, dancers, and cultural professionals to collaborate, develop new artistic works, and engage with local and international audiences. By integrating digital strategies, knowledge-sharing platforms, and public events, dancEUA ensures the broad dissemination of its outcomes, strengthening the visibility and sustainability of Ukrainian contemporary dance within the European performing arts ecosystem.
